EHIC, European Health Card, European Health Insurance Card

 

EHIC allows free or partially refunded health care while visiting countries within  the European Economic Area and Switzerland.  Citizens of EEA and Switzerland who are UK residents, live and work in the UK and are over 16 can apply for EHIC. The card is issued for a period of 5 years.
